Bedford named Team of the Week

Bedford Bulldogs

Bedford punctuated a 12-0 season by beating Exeter, 7-0, in Saturday’s Division I championship game.

The game’s lone touchdown came in the third quarter, when Bedford quarterback Connor Robert tossed a 23-yard pass to split end Noah Chaberek to cap the second half’s opening possession. Chaberek caught three passes for 46 yards in the victory.

Bedford held Exeter to 152 yards of offense on 61 plays. Shahrukh Hussain, Spencer Adams, Owen Brown and Nick Cannone each had a team-high seven tackles for the Bulldogs. Running back Nick Leahy led the offense with 124 yards rushing on 18 carries, including 56 yards on Bedford’s scoring drive.

Bedford is the only NHIAA team that completed its season with an unbeaten record.
