Keene’s Luopa resigns

John Luopa confirmed Wednesday that he has resigned as the varsity football coach at Keene High School.

Luopa posted a 62-55 record in 12 seasons at Keene, and led the Blackbirds to five playoff appearances. He also served as the varsity football coach at Fall Mountain before moving to Keene.

Luopa, who had throat surgery in November, is the fourth varsity head coach to leave his position since the end of the 2016 season. The other current job openings are Alvirne, Manchester West and Souhegan.
