Plymouth wins Division II title

PLYMOUTH 27, BOW 8

Garrett Macomber rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown to carry Plymouth to a 27-8 victory in Saturday’s Division II championship game at the University of New Hampshire’s Wildcat Stadium.

Macomber’s TD came on a 69-yard run and handed the Bobcats a 14-0 lead with 5:05 left in the first half. Plymouth (11-0) increased its lead to 20-0 on a 53-yard pass from quarterback Ben Olmstead to Jordan Docen with 20 seconds remaining in the first half.

The victory gave second-seeded Plymouth its second Division II championship in as many years. The Bobcats also beat the Falcons to win last year’s title.

Plymouth’s other touchdowns came on Nolan Farina’s 59-yard pass from Olmstead with 11:06 left in the first half, and Colby Moore’s 5-yard run with 3:21 remaining in the game.

Olmstead completed 4 of 9 passes for 161 yards. He was intercepted once. Plymouth had 394 yards of offense.

Eighth-seeded Bow (8-3) scored on a 23-yard pass from quarterback Matt Harkins to Steve Guerrette with 1:11 to play.
