Gilford-Belmont

Coach: Josh Marzahl (third season).
Conference: Division II North.
2017 Record: 1-7
Returning Starters on Defense: 7
Returning Starters on Offense: 7
Key Returnees: , Patrick Carr (TE) Brandon Cole (RB/CB) Ethan Roy (WR/LB) Robert Tonkin (OL/DL) Blake Descoteaux (RB/LB) Michael Schwartzkopf (OL/DL) Brandon Gallagher (WR/CB).
Season Opener: Sept. 1 vs. Pembroke.
Coach’s Comment: “Gilford-Belmont will be entering the 2018 with a solid senior core, a handful of juniors, and a very talented sophomore class,” Marzahl said. “The seniors will provide the leadership and stability as a large number of sophomores will find their way into starting roles on both sides of the ball. Alex Cheek (sophomore) will lead the offense and has seniors around him he can lean on for support. Sophomore running back Blake Descoteaux and senior running back Brandon Cole will get the workload carrying the ball. Both offering different styles of running. Cheek will have plenty of targets to throw to such as Carr, Roy, Gallagher, and many more.

“We expect the top teams from Division II North to all make another push towards playoffs and our goal is to start competing with those teams and keep building. The team is excited to get to work and they are ready to improve from the previous seasons. They are counting down the days til kickoff.”
