CHaD GAME
PRACTICE REPORT

The East was scheduled to vote on team captains following Monday’s practice at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. The West will select captains on Tuesday. … West head coach Robin Bowkett said a good part of Monday’s practice focused on special teams. “We looked more crisp on offense,” he said. “Now we have to take care of things on defense and kind of approach things like it’s a regular game week.” … East coach Kevin Hebert’s 5-year-old daughter, Sami, was treated at CHaD for a heart conditions for the first two years of her life. “Fully healthy,” Hebert said. “She plays lacrosse. She plays soccer. She’s a happy, healthy little girl. Because of CHaD and their help, it was a happy ending for her for sure.” … Bowkett said Manchester Central wide receiver Shawn McGarvey has performed better than expected. “We knew he was good, but he’s smooth,” Bowkett said. “He plucks everything out of the air.” … One note on Alvirne quarterback Kyle Gora, who will likely start at QB for the East: Gora advanced to the Round of 32 at the 170-pound weight class in the National High School Coaches’ Association (NHSCA) national wrestling tournament last spring. He will wrestle at the Division I level for Edinboro University. … The East is scheduled to practice from 4-8 p.m today at St. Thomas. The West will work out from 5:30-8 p.m. at Bedford High School.
