CAA recognizes Lehane

RICHMOND, Va. – Sean Lehane (Milford, Mass.), a sophomore punter on the 25th-ranked University of New Hampshire football team, was named Special Teams Player of the Week by the Colonial Athletic Association on Monday.

Lehane’s punting helped UNH defeat No. 21 Elon, 40-22, in front of a Family
Weekend crowd of 14,137 at Wildcat Stadium on Saturday. He averaged 44.8 yards on five punts and dropped four of them inside the 10-yard. His
first four punts pinned the Phoenix at the 1-yard line, 4-yard line, 1-yard line and 7-yard line. The punt to the Elon 4 led to a safety that gave the Wildcats a 23-7 lead at 2:35 of the second quarter.

Lehane also had two punts over 50 yards, including a long of 56. Lehane is averaging 41.1 yards per punt for the season. New Hampshire is ranked No. 11 in
the nation and second in the CAA in net punting at 39.65.
