Temple offers John Stark QB

John Stark Regional quarterback Drew McQuarrie received a scholarship offer from Temple on Saturday, according to John Stark head coach Rod McQuarrie (Drew’s father).

McQuarrie visited Temple this weekend with his family. Rod McQuarrie said the offer from Temple head coach Matt Rhule came as a surprise.

“We met with the head coach and my jaw and my wife’s jaw almost dropped when he said ‘We want to offer you a scholarship,'” Rod McQuarrie said. “Everything came about after Drew sent them his highlight tape.”

McQuarrie, a 6-foot-5 junior, also received an “offer” from Harvard in February. He has been John Stark’s starting quarterback since his sophomore season. He completed 75 of 109 passesfor 1,358 yards and 17 touchdowns (three interceptions) last season, when he also had 51 carries for 550 yards and four TDs.

McQuarrie also plays varsity basketball for John Stark.
