Bedford tops Power Poll

UNION LEADER/ESPN NH POWER POLL

The top 10 high school football teams in New Hampshire, voted by the staffs of the New Hampshire Union Leader and ESPN New Hampshire, with first-place votes/points in parentheses:

1. Bedford (5/68)
Having a healthy Nick Leahy certainly helps.

2. (tie) Merrimack (1/56)
We’ll learn a lot about the Tomahawks on Friday night in Bedford.

2. (tie) Exeter (56)
The Blue Hawks are always dangerous when they have experience at quarterback.

4. Goffstown (1/48)
The Grizzlies are still a handful.

5. Pinkerton (47)
The Astros are young, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be good.

6. Salem (26)
Another playoff berth appears to be within reach.

7. Windham (25)
Highest-ranked team from Division II.

8. Manchester Central (16)
If Central is strong, Division I North may be the best conference in the state.

9. Winnacunnet (13)
The Warriors could be the surprise team in Division I.

10. Timberlane (10)
If Timberlane is strong, Division I South may be the best conference in the state.
