Goffstown made things tough on itself in Friday night’s 37-33 victory at Pinkerton Academy. The Grizzlies scored on each of their first three possessions and held Pinkerton to 1-yard rushing in the first half, but had a less-than-comfortable 28-21 lead at halftime, even though the Astros were without starting quarterback Ryan Albrecht (shoulder).

Pinkerton backup Aiden Goujon, a sophomore, was master of the big play, tossing TD passes of 69, 88 and 78 yards in the first half. Goffstown led by 10 early in the second half, but Pinkerton went ahead , 33-31, on Goujon’s 24-yard TD pass to Kayden Baillargeon with 3:14 remaining in the third quarter. Goujon completed 11 of 18 passes for 353 yards in his varsity debut.

Goffstown (2-0) still trailed by two when it took over on its own 8-yard line with 2:20 to play. The Grizzlies put together a six-play scoring drive, capped by quarterback Nik Moquin’s 18-yard TD pass to running back Carter Cormier with 1:12 left. Moquin completed 24 of 33 attempts for 363 yards.

Pinkerton (1-1) drove to the Goffstown 29-yard line on its final possession, but Charles Keith intercepted a Goujon pass with 17.3 seconds left.
