It was a resilient Bow team that took the field in Weare on Saturday.

The seventh-seeded Falcons fell into a 14-point hole before they fought back to earn a 27-21 victory over second-seeded John Stark in the Division II quarterfinals.

Bow (8-2) trailed 21-14 until Justin Mooney capped a 70-yard drive with a 4-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Then the Falcons broke a 21-21 tie with four minutes to play when quarterback Matt Harkins tossed a 5-yard pass to Mac Kimball.

Bow also beat John Stark (8-2) during the regular season.

John Stark led 14-0 until tight end Nate Alford caught a deflected pass for a touchdown that put the Falcons on the scoreboard. Bow made it 14-14 when Matthew Scanlon blocked a punt and Jack Corrviveau scooped up the ball and scored with 5:30 left in the first half. Kimball added the PAT.

Bow, which is competing in Division II for the first time this season, will play at third-seeded Hanover (9-1) in Saturday’s Division II semifinals.
