The top 10 high school football teams in New Hampshire, voted by the staffs of the New Hampshire Union Leader and ESPN New Hampshire, with record, first-place votes/points in parentheses, plus last week’s ranking:
1. Bedford, 10-0 (6/69), 1st
The Bulldogs have allowed 14 points in their last four games.
2. Merrimack, 9-1 (1/63), 2nd
The Tomahawks will have a chance to avenge their only loss when they play at Bedford on Saturday.
3. Exeter, 9-1 (54), T-3rd
The Blue Hawks are happy to fly under the radar and led Bedford and Merrimack get all of the attention.
4. Windham, 10-0 (50), T-3rd
Windham has been making it look easy in Division II.
5. Nashua North, 8-2 (42), 6th
The Titans surpassed 60 points in back-to-back games against BG, but, as Keith Jackson would say, Exeter is a different critter.
6. Goffstown, 7-3 (33), 5th
Season complete.
7-T. Plymouth, 8-2 (18), NR
The Bobcats enter the poll after a convincing win against St. Thomas in the Division II quarterfinals.
7-T. Salem, 6-4 (18), 7th
Season complete.
9. Hanover, 9-1 (11), NR
The Marauders keep finding a way to win.
10. Bow, 8-2 (9), NR
The Falcons proved their regular-season victory over John Stark was no fluke.
