ALVIRNE

Coach: Tarek Rothe (first season).
Division/Conference: Division I West.
2016 Record: 1-8 (failed to qualify for playoffs).
Returning Starters on Defense: (2).
Returning Starters on Offense: (1).
Key Returnees: Hayden Callery (RB/S), Jacob Champagne (G/LB), Jacob Donahue (QB/SS), Tim Driscoll (OL/DL), Connor Mackey (WR/DB), Tyler Mahaney (RB/DB), Nick Prescott (RB/DB), Nick Spargo (TE/DE), Josh Trzcienski (OL/DL).
Season Opener: Sept. 1 vs. Pinkerton.
Coach’s Comment: “Ninety-five percent of the starters graduated. We will be extremely young, but we have a solid core of upperclassmen and a wonderful group of underclassmen who have been working hard in the weight room eager to show that this won’t be a team to be taken lightly. We play in an extremely tough conference — three out of the five teams made the playoffs last season — so it will be a tough fight against North, South and BG.”
