Fall Mountain named Team of the Week

Quarterback Jacob Shoemaker tossed three touchdown passes to help Fall Mountain collect its first victory since 2014 by beating Farmington/Nute, 26-14, in Farmington on Saturday.

Justin Garneau had TD receptions of 30 and 43 yards, and Morgan Wilbur had a 57-yard TD catch. Fall Mountain’s other touchdown came on an interception return by Chris Bashaw, the lone senior on the team’s roster.

Fall Mountain (1-1) hadn’t won a game since it beat Newfound, 56-12, midway through the 2014 season. Farmington/Nute dropped to 0-2. It was also Orion Binney’s first victory as a varsity head coach. Fall Mountain hired Binney earlier this year.
