NHFR Team of the Week: Pelham

Pelham Pythons

Pelham stretched its winning streak to three games and thrust itself back into the playoff picture by upsetting Hollis/Brookine 6-0 in Pelham on Friday night.

The game’s only touchdown came on Charlie Katin’s 70-yard punt return 2:14 into the first quarter. Pelham forced four turnovers in the victory.

Pelham raised its record to 4-3 and, depending on the results of other Division II games this weekend, could earn a playoff berth by beating Manchester West in Manchester on Friday night. The loss dropped Hollis/Brookine’s record to 5-2.

Brett Lindsay led the Pelham defense with two interceptions and a sack. The Pythons also received strong defensive performances from Ed Shlimon (two sacks, two fumble recoveries) and Jack Kirane (two sacks).

Each of Pelham’s last three victories has come by shut out.
