Monadnock held Campbell to 83 yards rushing in Saturday’s Division III championship game, but Keegan Mills picked up 33 of those yards on a touchdown run with 6:39 to play to help the Cougars capture the Division III title with a 12-8 victory.

Mills accounted for all of Campbell’s scoring. He handed the Cougars a 6-0 lead on a 1-yard run with 9:07 remaining in the first half, but Monadnock took an 8-6 lead on a 6-yard touchdown run by Tim Hart and Chandler Matson’s rush on the conversion.

The victory gave Campbell (11-0) the program’s second state championship. Campbell beat Newport to win the 2013 Division III title.

Mastson led all rushers with 125 yards on 28 carries. Mills finished with 76 yards 17 carries, competed 3 of his 4 pass attempts for 35 yards and also recorded a game-high 18 tackles.

Campbell outscored its opponents 532-46 this season. No team scored more than 14 points against the Cougars.

Campbell was one of three teams that capped an unbeaten season by winning a state championship Saturday, joining Division II Plymouth (11-0) and Division I Winnacunnet (12-0)
