Trisciani named to USNT U-16 staff

MANCHESTER – Saint Anselm College defensive line coach John Trisciani has been selected as an assistant coach for the 2018 United States Under-16 National Team.

Trisciani and the Under-16 team will compete against Mexico’s U16 Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon Team on Jan. 19 at AT&T Stadium, home of the National Football League’s Dallas Cowboys. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. EST.

Trisciani has nearly 40 years of experience coaching football at the high school and college levels and has assisted Saint Anselm since the 2009 season. He was previously the head coach at Trinity High School in Manchester and is an active member of the Joe Yukica Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.

Student-athletes from 16 states have been selected for the team as part of the International Bowl, featuring 24 high school and middle school-aged teams across eight nations on three continents. Trisciani will coach the defensive line under Head Coach Bill Volk of Aloha (Ore.) High School.

The U16 National Team has several notable alumni, including wide receiver Devin Funchess (Carolina Panthers), defensive back Tyrann Mathieu (Arizona Cardinals), quarterback Jameis Winston (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and 2017-18 Most Valuable Player candidate Todd Gurley (Los Angeles Rams).
