Alouettes hire Laconia’s Donovan

Donovan, a Gilford resident, had been the head coach at Concordia University since 2014. He began his coaching career in 2007 at Western University, where he coached the linebackers and special teams. In 2011 he was the defensive coordinator for McGill University.

Donovan, 37, played linebacker for Concordia from 2002 to 2004. In 2004 he won the President’s Trophy, which is awarded to the best defensive player in the country. He was voted an All-Canadian twice during his career.
