Shrine Practice: Day 4

New Hampshire eliminated one of its practices Wednesday and held two practice sessions. The team skipped lunch at Castleton State, ordered pizza and competed in a Cornhole Tournament instead. The team of Cole Glennon (Bedford) and Lucas Banaian (St. Thomas) won the tournament, defeating assistant coaches Tim Snow and William Patten in the championship round. … On the field, New Hampshire coach Pat Riberdy said he’s feeling much better about his offense after making some changes on the offensive line Wednesday morning. “Things looked a lot better there,” Riberdy said. “We wanted to use two units, but we’re just not going to be able to do it because we’re a little thin there. We’ll need some guys to go both ways.” … The changes included inserting Exeter’s Jack Haslam at right tackle, and moving Hollis/Brookline’s Garrett Moloney from tackle to right guard. The other starters on the offensive line are expected to be left tackle Kyle Reeder (Nashua South), left guard Nick Stone (Stevens) and center Aidan Cahill (Stevens). … Stone and Bow’s Ben Kimball are the players on the New Hampshire team who will attend Castleton. … New Hampshire  has a 47-15-2 advantage in the series, but hasn’t scored a touchdown since the 2016 game. This year’s contest will be played Saturday at Castleton State (5:30 p.m.). … Hartford’s Tyler Hamilton, Vermont’s 2017 Gatorade Player of the Year, is expected to play defensive back in Saturday’s game. Hamilton was a free safety and quarterback at Hartford, but also played running back during his varsity career. … New Hampshire will be the home team Saturday and will wear red shirts with white pants.
