NHFR TEAM OF THE WEEK
Alvirne Broncos

Alvirne overcame a 14-point deficit in the second half to defeat Souhegan 28-21 Friday night on the road in Amherst.

The Broncos trailed 21-20 after a missed extra point following Alex Giuffrida’s 8-yard touchdown run and, on their final possession, faced a fourth-and-nine situation from the Souhegan 41-yard line with just under three minutes to play.

Alvirne which trailed 21-7 in the third quarter, scored on a double pass from quarterback Kyle Gora to receiver Jack Regan to receiver Jamie Bertrand. Regan caught 8 passes for 87 yards in the victory, including four on Alvirne’s final drive.

Gora started the comeback by scoring Alvirne’s first second-half touchdown.

The victory raised Alvirne’s record to 2-1.
