PSU players honored by MASCAC

PLYMOUTH – Two members of the Plymouth State University football team were recognized by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) for their efforts in Plymouth State’s 28-0 victory over Fitchburg State University on Saturday.

Junior David Hamilton and sophomore Jeremy Martin were each selected to the MASCAC Football Weekly Honor Roll.

Hamilton, a 5-foot-7 running back, had 14 carries for 82 yards (5.9 avg) as Plymouth State relied on the ground game due to a driving rain, high winds and sloppy field conditions. Hamilton punched the ball in from 1 yard out late in the second quarter and added a 3-yard touchdown burst early in the third quarter. He added a 30-yard reception to set up his first TD run.

Martin pinned the Falcons inside the 20-yard line on both of his punts, converted all four of his PAT attempts and accumulated 288 kickoff yards (57.6 avg) despite the muddy field.

Plymouth State (6-3, 5-3 MASCAC) will wrap up its regular season on Saturday (Nov. 10) with a non-conference game against Husson University.
