Sixth-seeded Stevens extended its season by beating third-seeded Campbell 20-8 in Saturday’s Division III quarterfinals.

The Cardinals (6-4) received three rushing touchdowns from Keaghan McAllister and limited the Cougars (8-2) to 55 yards on the ground. McAllister scored on runs of 2, 1 and 6 yards.

Stevens led 7-0 at halftime and sealed the win when it put together an 87-yard scoring drive following a fourth-quarter interception by Owen Taylor. Stevens will face second-seeded Trinity (9-1) in Saturday’s semifinals.

Playoff upsets are nothing new for Paul Silva-coached Stevens teams. The Cardinals were the No. 7 seed when they upset second-seeded Trinity last season, and were seeded No. 6 when they knocked off Somersworth in the 2017 quarterfinals. Stevens also beat three higher-seeded teams (Campbell, Monadnock, and Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough) en route to the 2016 Division III championship, although the Cardinals got to play their first-round game at home that season.
