The fifth-seeded Cavaliers won their second road playoff game in as many weeks and advanced to the Division II championship game for the first time in the program’s history by beating top-seeded Bow 34-14 in Saturday’s Division II semifinals.

Junior running back Marc-Andre Thermitus (14 carries, 101 yards) ran for three touchdowns against previously unbeaten Bow, which set up a matchup between Hollis-Brookline (9-2) and Plymouth (9-2) in the Division II title game. Quarterback Sander Wimmer ran for a touchdown and also passed for a TD against Bow.  His TD pass, a 33-yard strike to Blake Bergerson, came on the first play from scrimmage in the second quarter and erased a 7-6 deficit.

Wimmer completed 11 of 16 passes for 93 yards, and also gained 111 yards on 14 carries. Bergerson led the receivers with four catches for 49 yards.

Hollis/Brookline opened the playoffs by beating third-seeded Kennett in Conway.
