Stony Brook lands former UNH WR

Malik Love, a senior wide receiver on the 2019 University of New Hampshire football team, will join the Stony Brook football program as a graduate transfer for the upcoming season.

Love, an Alcoa, Tenn., native, spent the past five years at UNH. He caught 179 receptions for 1,810 yards and five touchdowns during his career.

He was the Wildcats’ leading receiver in 2019, with 48 receptions for 542 yards. He also caught 59 passes for 520 yards as a redshirt freshman and had a career-best 70 receptions for 733 yards as a sophomore.

“I’m feeling extremely blessed for the opportunity to come to Stony Brook to continue my football career as well as finish my master’s,” Love said. “I am excited for everything ahead of me, and I can’t wait to reach my goals this year as well as the goals for the team.”

Prior to his time at UNH, Love spent one year at the Holderness School. He earned New England Prep School All-New England honors with 1,197 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns.

During his high school career at Alcoa, he was named team captain as a senior and received the district MVP honor. He also was named Class 3A Eastern Tennessee all-district, all-county and all-state.
