NHFR Team of the Week: Souhegan

NHFR TEAM OF THE WEEK
Souhegan Sabers
Souhegan, a Division II program, stepped up in class to take on Division I Bishop Guertin and came away with a 17-7 victory Saturday night.
The Sabers created seven turnovers in the win, including interceptions by Luke Manning (two), Jake Civiello, Michael Maroun and Riley Lawhorn. Reece Colby and Will Boyle each recovered a fumble.
Souhegan quarterback Austin Jain tossed two touchdown passes. He connected with Civiello for a 10-yard TD pass in the second quarter, and found Manning for a 9-yard TD pass in the fourth. The Sabers (2-0) also received a 20-yard field goal from Lawhorn in the third. Manning, a senior wide receiver/defensive back, had eight receptions for 116 yards.
Boyle also recorded two sacks in the victory. Alex Karpawich had a sack and one forced fumble.
