Newport turned in a dominant performance in the Division IV championship game and outgained Somersworth 332-3 en route to a 42-0 victory.

Running back Jagger Lovely ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries in the win. He finished the season with 933 yards and nine TDs.

Quarterback Marius Edwards also scored two rushing touchdowns for the Tigers, and tossed a 45-yard TD pass to Josh Sharron. Newport’s other TD came on Bryce Willey’s 17-yard run.

The Tigers (7-1) allowed 43 points in their eight games, and limited their three playoff opponents to six points. They averaged 41.0 points per contest.

Somersworth turned the ball over four times and didn’t pick up a first down until the fourth quarter.

Newport had 15 seniors on its roster: Lovely, Edwards, Willey, Sharron, Chase Hamilton, Ryder Lovely, Tanner Proper, Tyler Gobin, Caleb Turgeon, Hunter Brunt, Hayder Patenaude, Josh Orlowski, Adriano Urista, Nick Hogan and Adam Whipple.
