UNH drops to No. 20 in poll

RICHMOND, Va. (March 15, 2021) – A nation’s best six Colonial Athletic Association football teams were ranked in the STATS Perform FCS Top 25 poll released on Monday, while Rhode Island was honored as the National Team of the Week.

James Madison remained at No. 1 in the poll despite having its game last Saturday postponed due to CoVID-related protocols. The Dukes (3-0) are scheduled to face Richmond on Saturday.

Delaware jumped seven spots to No. 12 in the poll following a 31-3 victory over Stony Brook last week. The Blue Hens (2-0) travel to New Hampshire on Saturday.

Villanova slid to No. 14 in this week’s rankings after a 40-37 overtime setback to Rhode Island last Saturday. The Wildcats (1-1) are off this week.

UAlbany dropped to No. 18 in the poll following a 38-34 setback at Maine last week. The Great Danes (1-1) take on Rhode Island this Saturday in their home opener.

New Hampshire fell to No. 20 in the rankings despite being idle last Saturday. The Wildcats are back at home this week to take on No. 12 Delaware.

Richmond moved into the poll for the first time this season at No. 23 following its 38-14 triumph at Elon last week. The Spiders travel to No. 1 James Madison on Saturday.

Rhode Island and Maine were among other teams receiving votes.
