Harris-Lopez named state’s best

Nashua North senior quarterback/defensive back Curtis Harris-Lopez was named the 2020-21 Gatorade New Hampshire Football Player of the Year on Thursday.

The award, which recognizes outstanding athletic excellence, high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character on and off the field, distinguishes Harris-Lopez as the state’s best high school football player.

Harris-Lopez led the Titans to a 7-0 record and the Division I state championship last season. He rushed for 1,056 yards and 18 touchdowns, averaging 9.6 yards per carry. He also passed for four touchdowns. Defensively, he compiled 33 tackles and one interception, which he returned for a touchdown in the Division I championship game against Goffstown.
