CHaD Practice: Day 6

Notes from the sixth day of practice for this year’s CHaD New Hampshire East/West All-Star Game, which will be played July 17 (1 p.m. kickoff) at Saint Anselm College’s Grappone Stadium:

CHaD GAME
PRACTICE REPORT

The East captains are quarterback/defensive back Kyle Gora (Alvirne), lineman David Araujo (Winnacunnet) and offensive lineman/linebacker Ben Cerrato (Exeter). Londonderry’s Jake Naar, who died in a car accident in March, will be an honorary captain and will be represented by the Londonderry players on the East roster for the opening coin toss. Those Londonderry players are offensive/defensive lineman Hayden Fielder, quarterback/defensive back Aiden O’Loughlin, wide receiver/defensive back Lucas Seaman and linebacker/offensive lineman Ian Ward. Araujo will play at Saint Anselm College in the fall. “He’s a kid we haven’t been able to block this week,” East head coach Kevin Hebert said. “He’s been an animal. St. A’s is going to love him.” … While the East beat the weather Wednesday, the West practice was shortened to 25 minutes because of lightning. … The West has also selected its captains: quarterback/linebacker Jarrett Henault (Goffstown), offensive/defensive lineman Max Ackerman (Nashua North), defensive lineman/tight end Jason Compoh (Nashua South) and running back/defensive back Riley Lawhorn (Souhegan). “The way those guys go about their business sets the standard for the other guys,” West coach Robin Bowkett said. … This is the first time no Pinkerton players have participated in the game. … The four teams that advanced to the Division I and Division II championship games (Nashua North, Goffstown, Souhegan and Plymouth) sent players to the West team. … Thursday will be the final full day of practice for each team.  The East and West will each have a walk-through at Saint Anselm College on Friday before taking part in a barbecue. … Saturday’s game will have 15-minute quarters for the first half, and 12-minute quarters for the second half.
