Milliken earns MASCAC honors

PLYMOUTH – Senior Ryan Milliken (Lebanon, N.H.) earned weekly recognition from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) with inclusion on its Weekly Honor Roll for his play in the Panthers’ setback at Bridgewater State University on Saturday.

The Panthers trailed BSU 27-3 in the final minute of the third quarter, but Milliken’s 81-yard kickoff return for a touchdown jump-started the PSU offense. Milliken picked up a bouncing kick at the Panthers’ 19-yard line, sprinted through a slew of would-be tacklers untouched and raced to the house for Plymouth State’s first TD of the game.

The return sparked the Panthers, who rallied with a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to pull to within 27-24. PSU got the ball back for the final time with just under a minute to play and drove to the Bridgewater 26-yard line, but time expired on the comeback bid.

Milliken added an 18-yard punt return and three tackles (two solo) to his stat line.

Plymouth State is on its bye next week but returns to action for a Homecoming Weekend showdown with Framingham State on October 2.
