Saint Anselm wins home opener

Saint Anselm 42, Franklin Pierce 7

MANCHESTER – The Saint Anselm College football team racked up more than 450 yards of total offense on Saturday, locking down a 42-7 victory over Franklin Pierce University at Grappone Stadium.

Saint Anselm improved to 1-2 overall and evened its Northeast-10 Conference record at 1-1. Franklin Pierce fell to 0-4 and to 0-2 against league opponents. Saturday’s game was the home opener for Saint Anselm and was part of the College’s Homecoming Weekend festivities.

Dartmouth 41, Sacred Heart 3

HANOVER — Dartmouth ran up 286 yards on the ground with junior Nick Howard and senior Zack Bair both topping the 100-yard mark to lead the Big Green (2-0) to a 41-3 victory over the Northeast Conference preseason favorite, Sacred Heart (2-2), in front of 5,121 fans Saturday at Dartmouth’s Memorial Field. It was the Big Green’s 18th consecutive victory against a non-conference opponent dating back to the 2014 season.
