NHFR Team of the Week: Keene

Keene Blackbirds

Keene used a dominant ground attack to beat Nashua North 33-0 on Saturday.

Senior Jarrod Rokes scored on runs of 2, 27 and 12 yards to lead the Blackbirds offense. Rokes also caught a pass from quarterback Aiden Tarr for a two-point conversion. North, last year’s Division I champion, trailed 19-0 at halftime and fell to 3-2.

It was the third straight victory for Keene (3-2), which opened the season with losses to Bishop Guertin and Pinkerton Academy. The Blackbirds own sole possession of second place, behind BG, in Division I West and would qualify for postseason play if the playoffs began today.

Keene will play at Salem (2-2) Friday night in a game that is sure to have playoff implications.
