Gilford-Belmont Golden Eagles

Quarterback Isaiah Reese rushed for two touchdowns to help Gilford-Belmont upset St. Thomas Aquinas, 14-10, in Dover on Friday night.

Reece ran for a 25-yard touchdown in the second quarter, and a 21-yard TD in the fourth.

Gilford-Belmont needed the win to keep its Division II playoff hopes alive. The victory, coupled with Bow’s victory over Manchester West on Saturday, earned the Golden Eagles the eighth-seed for next weekend’s Division II quarterfinals. Gilford-Belmont (5-3) will open the playoffs at Timberlane (9-0).

The victory also gave Gilford-Belmont its first winning record since the schools formed a co-op program in 2015.
