Team of the Week: Fall Mountain

Fall Mountain Wildcats

Fourth-seeded Fall Mountain dominated the line of scrimmage in its 21-6 upset victory over top-seeded Newport in the Division IV semifinals.

Quarterback Luke Gay ran for 107 yards and three touchdowns, the Wildcats recorded four sacks and came up with three turnovers. Fall Mountain had the ball for all but 1:44 of the third quarter.

Newport, last year’s Division IV champion, entered the game with a 7-0 record and beat Fall Mountain 35-0 earlier this season.

Fall Mountain (6-3) will face second-seeded Somersworth (8-1) in Saturday’s Division IV championship game. It’s the second time Fall Mountain has advanced to the Division IV championship game in the last three seasons.
