MASCAC recognizes PSU’s Milliken

PLYMOUTH – Plymouth State senior Ryan Milliken (Lebanon, N.H.) continued his breakout season earning recognition as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Special Teams Player of the Week.

Milliken returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a tone-setting touchdown in Plymouth State’s 27-7 win over Massachusetts Maritime Academy in MASCAC football action on Saturday. He grabbed the kickoff at the 15-yard line and streaked down the right sideline for the early score. After the Buccaneers trimmed the lead to 13-7, Milliken’s 27-yard return helped setup the Panthers’ third TD of the afternoon and MMA never challenged. He also returned four punts for 29 yards.

Milliken now has three return touchdowns on the season; kickoff return TDs of 81 and 85 yards, plus an 85-yard punt return for a score. He leads the conference in kick return yards (396) despite the fewest number of attempts (10) among the league leaders.

The Panthers, winners of five straight, look to close out the MASCAC schedule on a high note when they visit the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Saturday for a noon kickoff.
