McQuarrie leaving UCLA

It appears Parker McQuarrie’s career at UCLA may be over.

McQuarrie, a 6-foot-7 quarterback who lives in Weare, entered the transfer portal on Tuesday after spending two years at UCLA. McQuarrie did not see any game action during his time with the Bruins.

McQuarrie began his high school career at John Stark before he transferred to the St. Paul’s School in Concord following his junior year at John Stark. He repeated his junior year and spent his senior year at St. Paul’s.

McQuarrie, who Rivals rated as the No. 9 Pro-style quarterback in his recruiting class, was not near the top of the UCLA depth chart this season. The Bruins recently received a commitment from quarterback Justyn Martin of Inglewood (Calif.) High School, who several recruiting services have rated as the No. 3 high school QB in California.

McQuarrie committed to UCLA in 2019, two months after UCLA coach Chip Kelly visited him at St. Paul’s. Kelly is a New Hampshire native who played quarterback at Manchester Central and at the University of New Hampshire.
