UNH releases schedule

DURHAM – The University of New Hampshire football program, under the leadership of first-year head coach Rick Santos, will kick off its 2022 season Thursday night, Sept. 1, at Wildcat Stadium against new CAA member Monmouth, the conference announced Tuesday.

That season-opener launches a five-game home slate for UNH that includes a non-conference battle against North Carolina Central (Saturday, Sept. 7) and league matchups versus Stony Brook (Saturday, Oct. 8), Elon (Saturday, Oct. 22) and Rhode Island (Saturday, Nov. 12).

CAA SCHEDULE

The Wildcats will play up a level when they challenge Western Michigan of the FBS Mid-American Conference (MAC) on Saturday, Oct. 1. UNH’s other non-CAA game is the Granite Bowl at Dartmouth on Saturday, Oct. 15.

UNH’s CAA road games include a trip to UAlbany (Saturday, Sept. 10), a visit to Towson (Saturday, Sept. 24) a game at Richmond (Saturday, Nov. 5) and the Border Battle, presented by Buffalo Wild Wings, at Maine (Saturday, Nov. 19).

“We take pride on playing in the best conference in FCS football and always seek to challenge ourselves against top non-league competition,” Santos said. “We are concentrating on getting better every day this spring and look forward to opening the season in front of our fans on September 1.”
