Team of the Week: Campbell

Campbell Cougars

Third-seeded Campbell went on the road and upset second-seeded Monadnock 37-14 Friday night in the Division III semifinals. The Huskies beat the Cougars 52-8 during the regular season.

Sophomore running back Scott Hershberger ran for 276 yards and five touchdowns in the win. All five TDs came in the first half, when he gained 267 yards. Campbell (8-2) led 34-7 entering the third quarter.

Monadnock running back Jack Lorenz was limited to 8 yards rushing. He ran for 361 yards and five touchdowns on 27 attempts in the earlier meeting between the teams.

The victory advanced Campbell to Saturday’s Division III championship game. The Cougars will face top-seeded Trinity (10-0) at Souhegan High School. Trinity beat Campbell 36-22 during the regular season.
