Team of the Week: Pelham

NHFR TEAM OF THE WEEK
Pelham Pythons

Pelham completed an unbeaten season (12-0) and extended the program’s winning streak to 30 games by beating Souhegan 35-6 in Saturday’s Division II championship game at Bedford High School.

It was the third consecutive championship for Pelham, which spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons in Division III.

Pelham High School received 139 yards rushing and three touchdowns from fullback Ethan Demmons and took advantage of five turnovers.

Dom Herrling added a TD run (21 yards) and a 20-yard touchdown catch for the second-seeded Pythons, who led 14-0 after one quarter and 21-6 at halftime. Alex Carroll rushed for a game-high 144 yards on 13 carries.

Pelham beat Souhegan 28-21 during the regular season.

Pelham and Somersworth, which won the Division IV championship, are the only NHIAA teams that finished the 2022 season undefeated.
