Top 10 Games of 2022: No. 9

No. 9: Timberlane 48, Dover 42 (OT)

Defense appeared to be optional in the No. 9 game our our list, although Timberlane stopped Dover on its overtime possession before claiming victory on an Eddie DiGiulio touchdown run on the Owls’ second offensive play in OT.

Dover quarterback Ryder Aubin completed 26 of 41 passes and set a school record for passing yardage (425) yards and tied a school record for passing TDs (five) in the loss.  He also ran for a TD.

Bryce Carberry and Brett Davis each caught two TD passes for the Green Wave. Davis had 11 receptions for 221 yards, and Carberry made nine catches for 136.

Timberlane rushed for 298 yards in the win. Timberlane QB Dom Coppeta gained 125 yards on 19 carries, and completed 7 of 12 passes for 140 yards through the air.

Coppeta tossed a 45-yard TD pass to Jaden Mwangi and a 43-yard TD pass to DiGiulio. The Owls also received a pair of TD runs from running back Dan Post.

Dover was in position to pull off the upset until DiGiulio scored on a 48-yard run that helped tie the game with 3:41 left in the fourth quarter.

Dover’s Tucker Johnson and Timberlane’s Harrison Bloom both made each of their six point-after kicks.

Bloom missed a 51-yard field goal attempt as time expired in the fourth quarter.
