Newfound’s Parsons steps down

Zach Parsons recently resigned from his position as Newfound Regional’s varsity football coach.

Parsons, who spent two years as Newfound’s head coach, cited personal reasons. He recently changed jobs, and he and his wife also welcomed a baby to the family.

Parsons, who spent eight seasons as an assistant coach under Paul Castonia at Plymouth State, replaced Ray Kershaw as Newfound’s head coach when Kershaw resigned in March, 2021.

Parsons played football at Plymouth State from 2007 to 2011. He spent one season as an assistant football coach at Northhampton (Mass.) High School, his alma mater, and hooked on with the Plymouth State program the following year.
