Fuller scores 5 TDs for Holy Cross

North Hampton’s Jordan Fuller scored five touchdowns — four rushing, one receiving — as Holy Cross erased a three-point halftime deficit and defeated Merrimack, 42-20 in the season-opening game for both schools on Saturday.

Quarterback Matthew Sluka tossed a 14-yard TD pass to Fuller late in the second quarter, but the Crusaders trailed 17-14 at halftime.

Fuller, who played at Winnacunnet High School, took over from there, rushing for four second-half TDs. He capped three long drives with short runs for touchdowns, then ended his day with a 28-yard run to the end zone with a minute left.

Fuller finished with 13 carries for 120 yards rushing and four touchdowns and pulled in one pass 14 yards and a fifth touchdown.
