Senior fullback Eric Seymore rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries to lead Manchester Memorial to a 15-0 victory over Manchester Central on Thurday in the annual Manchester Thanksgiving Day game.
Seymore capped a six-play, 44-yard drive with a 2-yard TD run in the second quarter, and added a 1-yard TD run in the fourth. The Crusaders opened the scoring on a safety in the second quarter and led 9-0 at halftiime.
It was Memorial’s first Thankgiving Day victory since 2014. The Crusaders completed the season with a 3-8 record, but won their final two games.
Central (2-9) turned the ball over three times. Jose Soto and Chase Burris each had an interception, and Januel Ramirez recovered a fumble on the Central 20-yard line that set up Seymore’s second TD.
Central sputtered on offense throughout the game. The Little Green didn’t get closer than the Memorial 40-yard line in the first game, and didn’t cross midfield in the final two quarters.
