Sanborn Regional’s Josh White has been selected as New Hampshire head coach for the 2024 Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl, which will be played Aug. 3 at Vermont State University in Castleton, Vt.
The game features some of each state’s best football players from the Class of 2024.
White is in his 14th year as a physical education teacher at Sanborn. He graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 2004 and played football at Plymouth State University.
Bedfore becoming Sanborn’s head coach, White served as an assistant on the staffs at Londonderry, Spaulding and Sanborn. He’s been with the Sanborn program for 10 years, including five as head coach.
Sanborn finished 6-4 last season and lost to St. Thomas in the Division II quarterfinals.
The notable achievements in White’s professional career include:
- Division II East Coach of the Year
- 2023 NH Down Syndrome Awareness Teacher of the Year
- 2022 Governor’s Council, NH CHART Award
- 2019, 2020, 2021 YMCA Leadership in Education Award
White lives in Londonderry with his wife Jessica, and two children, Lillian and Layla White.
Former Poultney coach Dave Capman will serve as Vermont’s head coach.
With less than eight months before game day, the purpose of the Shrine Maple Bowl is fundraising for supporting children in need at Shrine hospitals. The game contributes to three hospitals in our region: Shriners’ Hospitals for Children in Springfield, Mass., and Montreal, Quebec treating orthopedic conditions, and our world-renowned burns hospital in Boston. All services are provided regardless of the families’ ability to pay.
