FOOTNOTES

News and notes related to football in the Granite State:

— Holy Cross football senior running back Jordan Fuller, a North Hampton resident, has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2024 Walter Payton Award, given annually to the national offensive player of the year in Division I FCS college football.

Earlier this week, Fuller was named to the Stats Perform Preseason All-America team, and was recently named to the 2024 Preseason All-Patriot League team.

Fuller, a 2023 Associated Press third team All-American, is the program’s career rushing touchdown leader (40). Last season he ran for 1,046 yards and a nation-leading 19 touchdowns, including a school single-season record 18 rushing touchdowns, en route to first team All-League honors. He was named the National Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 4 following a five touchdown and 134 yard performance in a 42-20 win against Merrimack.

Fuller helped Winnacunnet High School win the Division I championship during his sophomore season.

— Bishop Guertin graduate Cody Szymansky has committed to play college football at Towson University, an FCS program that competes in the Colonial Athletic Association. Szymansky will play for Phillips Exeter Academy this fall.

—  NESN will air two Dartmouth home games this fall, the Oct. 5 game vs. Penn and the Nov. 23 contest vs. Brown. The Penn game will kick off at 1 p.m., and the Brown contest will begin at noon.

Against Penn, Dartmouth will dedicate the stadium in the late Buddy Teevens’ honor. Brown will be the season finale; the Big Green ended last season with a win at Brown to earn their third Ivy League Championship in the last four seasons.
