Dartmouth wins on late kick

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — Owen Zalc kicked a 32-yard field goal with seven seconds remaining to lift Dartmouth to a 16-14 win over Merrimack on Saturday.

Zalc kicked three field goals, including a career-long 50-yarder with just under eight minutes to go that pulled the Big Green (2-0) within a point of the Warriors (1-4).


GAME STATISTICS


Merrimack took a 14-10 lead on their opening drive of the second half with Jermaine Corbett running 11 yards for the TD. Corbett had 137 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 21 carries.

Dartmouth quarterback Jackson Proctor was 14 of 29 for 161 yards passing, including a 75-yard TD to Painter Richards-Baker.

Mass. Maritime 29, Plymouth State 6

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. – Senior Willie Lombard scored his fourth rushing touchdown of the season, but Massachusetts Maritime Academy held down Plymouth State University, 29-6, in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) football game at Clean Harbors Stadium on Saturday afternoon.


GAME STATISTICS


The Buccaneers pounded the ball for more than 350 yards on the ground.
Plymouth State got on the scoreboard with 7:47 left to play on Lombard’s 2-yard run.

Plymouth State dips to 1-2 (1-2 MASCAC), while the Buccaneers even out at 2-2 (2-1 MASCAC).
