NHFR Team of the Week: Kennett

NHFR TEAM OF THE WEEK
Kennett Eagles

Ben Chick’s 4-yard touchdown run with 28 seconds to play handed Kennett a 31-28 triumph over Bow on Friday night.

Bow led 25-20 late in the fourth quarter, but turned the ball over on downs at its own 32-yard line with 2:47 to play. The key play that set up Chick’s TD run was a 20-yard pass from quarterback Bowen Brown to Daven Bailey on a fourth-and-nine play. The completion gave Kennett a first down on the Bow 11.

The victory raised Kennett’s record to 2-4 and kept the team’s Division II playoff chances alive. Bow, which trailed 20-13 at halftime, dropped to 3-3.

Brown was 17 of 24 for 215 yards and three TD passes in the win. He tossed a 25-yard TD pass to Sawyer Hussey, a 22-yard TD pass to Bailey and then a 35-yard scoring pass to Hussey.

Kennett also scored on Chick’s 18-yard TD run, which gave the Eagles a 20-19 lead with 5:43 left in the third quarter. Chick ran for 115 yards on 16 carries.

Bailey caught 10 passes for 140 yards.
