Portsmouth/Oyster River

Quarterback Andy Brown completed 10-of-14 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns to help Portsmouth/Oyster River open its season with a 35-0 home victory against Dover.

Brown also ran for a TD in the win. Running back Demetrius Tsakiris added 80 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 12 carries.

The victory gave the ClipperCats as many victories as they had last season, when they finished 1-8.

Tsakiris scored on a 4-yard run to hand Portsmouth/Oyster River a 7-0 lead two minutes into the game. Brown added a 2-yard TD run and then connected with Kevin White (four receptions, 62 yards) for a 23-yard touchdown pass to give Portsmouth/Oyster River a 21-0 advantage with 7:15 left in the second quarter

Tsakiris scored from 6 yards out with 45 seconds remaining in the first half, and Brown opened the third quarter with a 57-yard scoring pass to Micah Gedney (three catches, 87 yards) to give the ClipperCats a 35-0 lead.

Portsmouth/Oyster River will face Exeter at home Friday night. Exeter opened its season with a 24-20 victory over Timberlane.
