Daley, 31, confirmed Wednesday that he has been hired as the varsity football coach at John Stark Regional High School, a Division II program located in Weare. He replaces Ray Kershaw, who resigned following the 2025 season.

“I like the level of competition there,” Daley said. “They play some of the best teams in the state and that challenge had a lot of appeal.

“I know it’s a program that’s had its ups and downs in recent years, but from what I’ve been told its an athletic school.”

Daley, who lives in Enfield,  was Mascoma’s head coach for the last four years, and spent six seasons as an assistant on the Mascoma staff before he was elevat ed to head coach. He guided Mascoma to the Division IV championship in 2024, and the Royals lost to Hillsboro-Deering in last year’s title game.

Daley said meeting the players and others associated with the John Stark program will be his next order of business.

“I’m not coming in with anything set in terms of what we’re going to run,” he said. “I try not to be a coach with a system. I’d rather coach what I have.

“I’m really looking forward to this.”
