GREENSBORO, N.C. – Junior wide receiver
Logan Perez (Sewell, N.J.) caught eight passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns, but the University of New Hampshire football team fell to North Carolina A&T, 30-27, in overtime Saturday at Truist Stadium.
Perez recorded career highs in both receptions and receiving yards with TD catches of 75 and 21 yards to mark his first career scores.
Senior quarterback Brooks Bentley (Venice, Fla.) completed 23-of-35 passes for 267 yards and the two TD tosses to Perez. Senior running back Joquez Smith (Tampa, Fla.) had 20 carries for a game-high 76 rushing yards and three catches for 18 yards.
Sophomore linebacker Trevor Barry (Elma, N.Y.) recorded a team-high 10 tackles and junior cornerback Sean Webb (San Diego, Calif.) made seven stops. Josh Fillion (Quebec City, Quebec) and Ryan Blagg (Westford, Mass.) both blocked a punt in the first half.
NC A&T’s Asher Holland made a 34-yard field goal in overtime to end the game after the Wildcats did not score on the first possession of the extra session.
The Aggies were led offensively by Kevin White, who threw for 230 yards and three TDs and also rushed for 38 yards. Michael Carlock-Williams had 129 receiving yards, including a 32-yard touchdown. Terry Radford was credited with 17 tackles.
UNH is now 2-5 overall and 1-3 in the CAA. A&T is 2-5, 2-2.

FIRST QUARTER
- UNH’s defense forced A&T to punt on the first possession of the game and Filliion broke through the middle to partially block the punt and give the Wildcats possession at the A&T 45.
- Eleven plays later, Smith punched it into the end zone from the 2-yard line and the PAT kick by Lucas Glassburn (Windermere, Fla.) gave the ‘Cats at 7-0 lead at 6:10.
- Smith accounted for 37 of the 45 yards on the drive with 22 on the ground and 15 through the air.
- The Aggies responded with a 7-play, 75-yard drive capped by a 9-yard TD pass from White to Amonte Jones to level the score, 7-7, at 2:44.
SECOND QUARTER
- On the next possession, UNH marched to the A&T 35 before Bentley’s pass to the right sideline was intercepted by Kamari Blankumsee to give the home team possession at the A&T 29.
- The Aggies quickly advanced the ball downfield on a 33-yard pass from White to Carlock-Williams to the UNH 1. JT Smith ran it in on the next play to give the home team a 14-7 lead at 9:22.
- UNH needed only 51 seconds to tie the score, 14-14, when Perez pulled in Bentley’s pass over the middle at the UNH 35 and, with the help of a downfield block by Ryan Ricketti (Rocky River, Ohio), raced to the left pylon for a 75-yard touchdown.
- White connected with Carlock-Williams inside the left sideline of the end zone for a 32-yard touchdown to put A&T back in front, 21-14, at 2:43.
- On the next Aggies punt, Blagg got past the blockers on the left side and extended his right hand back to the middle to block the kick and set up 1st and 10 at the A&T 7 with nine seconds on the clock.
- Following an incompletion to Colby Ramshaw (Londonderry, N.H.) at the back line of the end zone, Glassburn made a 24-yard field goal on the last play of the first half to lift the ‘Cats within 21-17.
THIRD QUARTER
- Following a UNH turnover, Holland missed a 31-yard field goal wide right to keep the margin at four points, 21-17, at 6:11.
- The Wildcats capitalized on an Aggies’ running-into-the-kicker penalty that extended their next drive. Bentley found Ricketti down the right sideline for a 32-yard gain to the A&T 2, and on the next play he hit Perez in stride at the 2-yard line and he continued into the end zone for his second score of the game. Glassburn’s PAT kick put UNH back in front, 24-21, with 49 seconds on the clock.
FOURTH QUARTER
- The Aggies advanced to the UNH 31, but then threw three consecutive incompletions to lose the ball on downs at 11:02.
- On the next possession, the Wildcats converted 3rd-and-3 and 3rd-and-9, then induced offside on the defense on 4th-and-1 to extend the drive with under five minutes remaining.
- With UNH facing 3rd-and-4 from the A&T 9, the Aggies sacked Bentley but were penalized for a personal foul to give UNH 1st-and-goal at the 7-yard line with 2:49 to play.
- Glassburn’s 26-yard field goal extended the advantage to 27-21 with 1:40 on the clock.
- With the Aggies facing 4th-and-4 at UNH 40 with 29 seconds to play, the Aggies converted at the 35-yard line with 20 seconds to play.
- On 3rd down from the UNH 19 with seven seconds left, out of A&T timeouts, White threw the ball out of the back of the end one and, after review, one second was put back on the clock.
- On fourth down, White hit Kennedy at the goal line to tie the game, 27-27, and Holland missed the PAT kick to send the game into overtime.
OVERTIME
- UNH went on offense first and converted 3rd-and-9 with an 11-yard catch by Ja’Carree Kelly (Gainesville, Fla.) to the 13-yard line. On 3rd-and-3 from the A&T 6, Bentley was sacked for the second time in OT, which led to a 29-yard field goal missed wide left by Glassburn.
- The Aggies called time out ahead of 3rd-and-5 from the UNH 20, White gained three yards to set up Holland’s 34-yard field goal that split the uprights to give NC A&T a 30-27 victory.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- This was UNH’s first overtime game since Oct. 28, 2023, when the ‘Cats lost 34-28 at Rhode Island.
- New Hampshire has a 7-9 all-time record in OT that includes 7-7 on the road.
- Perez’s 75-yard score marked UNH’s longest play from scrimmage this season.
- Barry recorded 10+ saves for the fifth time in seven games this season.
- Smith eclipsed 1,000 career all-purpose yards and increased his total to 1,077 with 94 yards Saturday.
- Bentley surpassed 5,000 career passing yards with 267 Saturday that moved his total to 5,216.
