HOW IT HAPPENED

The Ravens’ defense caused problems for the Setters all night long. Repeatedly, the Ravens’ front seven pressured Pace quarterbacks Ethan Coady and Luke Poranco into throwing the six combined interceptions.

BOX SCORE

Sophomore linebacker Will Gomes (Berlin, Conn.) secured two interceptions to give the Ravens’ offense more possessions. Other defensive players, such as senior linebacker Geno Facchetti (Wilbraham, Mass.), sophomore defensive back Damir Stone (East Orange, N.J.), senior defensive back Da’Juan Banks (Hartford, Conn.), and sophomore defensive back John Goggliettino (Wallingford, Conn.), all grabbed an interception to stall Pace’s offense in its tracks.

With the takeaways, the Ravens offense got down to business. They started the game with a 24-yard field goal from junior kicker Dillon Hubbard (Tampa, Fla.) to put the Ravens up 3-0.

Then, on the next drive, junior quarterback Adrian Parker (Manchester, Conn.) threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to sophomore tight end Dan Miller (Niskayuna, N.Y.). Despite a missed extra point, making the game 9-0, the Ravens held a two-score lead at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Parker showed off his arm in a clean pocket and delivered a 38-yard strike to junior wide receiver Tristan Evans (East Dummerston, Vt.). The Ravens held a 16-0 lead at halftime.

Everything went the Ravens’ way, and the Setters were desperate for a spark. They got it on the second half kickoff after Pace’s Jhamier Howard returned the kick 96 yards for a touchdown, putting Pace on the board.

However, it was the only spark they would get as the Ravens extended their lead late in the third quarter. Parker completed a 14-yard pass to freshman wide receiver Joseph Mugovero (Manchester, Conn.) to make it 22-6.

The final score came in the fourth quarter as senior running back Alex Benitez (Belle Meade, N.J.) ran for a 4-yard touchdown to secure the win. The Ravens then went for two, and Parker successfully passed it to sophomore tight end Connor Marchi (Somers, Conn.) to make it 30-6.

The Ravens dominated the game and secured their first win of the season. With the loss, Pace recorded their third consecutive game allowing allowing at least points. Pace also struggled with penalties, eight for 59 yards, which killed momentum during good drives.

The Ravens also saw great production from junior running back Reimello Hyde (Nashua, N.H.). He ran for 127 yards on 19 carries, being an electric player in the backfield that continued to move the Ravens’ drives forward.
